I'm blogging in English AND German. Would love to know if there are any other travel bloggers out there who also blog in two languages and how they handle it...
I'm using the plugin qtranslate and I'm happy so far with it but sometimes this bilingual thing is a pain in the ass for example in combination with other plugins (not to mention the double work).
IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE WHO ALSO BLOGS IN TWO (or more) LANGUAGES?

Permalink Reply by Cezar Dumitru on December 9, 2011 at 7:06am I am quite interested in this as I am blogging only in Romanian and think to have also an English version... Problem is I don't really have the time to write bilingually !

But at least someone who is not blogging in english, I thought I'm the only one here in TBU.
Permalink Reply by Mar La on December 24, 2011 at 12:29pm I am blogging in English at the moment but could also blog in German though I don't think it is really necessary cause many Germans can read English. I am living in Madrid and thinking about blogging in Spanish but right now I still have to improve my Spanish writing skills.
Hi Yvonne, I was actually thinking to start blogging (and translating my already published posts!) also in Italian but I didn't really know how to handle it. I'm very busy writing now, but I'm kind of preparing to work more on my blog, so I wanted to make it in English, Italiand and possibly French. It's VERY hard work, isn't it??
Do you manage to translate every single post?
Permalink Reply by Gayla LaBry on February 19, 2013 at 10:43pm I follow your blog, mostly in English, as my German is very rusty. I'm inspired by your bilingual blogging and would definitely be interested in learning more about bilingual blogging, as well. I currently blog in English, but would like to some day include duplicate posts in Dutch. At this time, I do most translations partially with google translator (it doesn't quite get the grammar, so I do some editing based on my knowledge of the language). Looking forward to reading the responses from other bloggers.
Permalink Reply by Satu Vänskä-Westgarth on March 16, 2013 at 12:22pm I blog both in Finnish and English, but I've decided to keep the blogs quite separate when it comes to the content. I started the Finnish blog 4+ years ago and the English one only less than a year ago, so the starting point and the readership for the two language versions are totally different. I also write quite differently in each language, so for me this system works the best :)
Permalink Reply by Tine Hemeryck on March 21, 2013 at 1:05pm Hey, I blog in Dutch and English most of the time (apart from the really long travel stories). I don’t use any plugins, I just combine the two languages in one blog post by putting one language in a slightly lighter color. I haven’t had any negative feedback on it (yet), so I’ll keep doing it like this.

I post in Greek and English. I use WPML plugin. But I translate my posts separately, edit them and post them in the english version of the blog. It needs time and that's why enlish posts are quite less than the greek ones.
Hello,
My wife and I write about our travels in English and Portuguese at: http://www.viewsaroundtheworld.com. We discuss the same topic so we include both versions on each post. It's obviously easier to do it that way than to create a completely separate site.
