Hi there! I'm brand new to TBU and pretty new to travel blogging as well. Whirlwind Travel is my second attempt at having and maintaining a travel blog. Who knew it was so much work! I'm trying to get the word out there and have people take a look at it, and hopefully you will like it enough to follow! Or comment, because I love comments and don't get many yet. My question to you all is:
how do you find the time to post frequently on your blogs if travel writing and blogging is not your career?
For me, I have a part time job and full time university on top of this, so sometimes I find it difficult to find the time! Travel is my biggest passion in life and I'm attempting to get to all 7 continents by the time I'm 30. This travel blog is to keep a record of that.
Here's the link! Any tips or suggestions are welcome:

Posts, IMO, should be short ... average 300 words; 500 top weight. Long posts can easily be broken down into 2 or three shorter ones; as they say in the theatre ... leave them wanting more. And, I'm sure you can scribble down 300 words in a coffee break, or something.
Personally, I'd say no more than 2 or 3 photos per post; if you want to show more, consider using the 'slide show' facility on Wordpress.
Finally, I think your work would be more readable with a little more 'white space'; short paragraphs, with plenty of spacing between
Hope this is useful!

My advice would be to write when you can and keep it fun for you. Also don't worry about it being an overnight success. The slow and steady build can be the most effective long term.
You also want to build community and share your posts in other place on the web. I set up a few groups to help with that:
I hope these help you to get off to a good start with your site.

Just going through the forum and noticed I hadn't replied yet.
Just curious, why is this your second attempt?
Think about having a simple, clear structure to writing content. Don't focus on it as if you are writing essays. I used to hate doing that at university. Think about maybe photos of the week or videos of the week. Consider the size of your articles too. Are they really lengthy? Maybe shorten them? Consider a few hundred words and maybe add a few photos?
How have you found it so far?
Sorry I didn't reply sooner, it won't be as long next time, I promise.

That way, publishing is automatic, and you don't have to worry so much about finding the time. You can do the same with social media.
