Love the topic! I'm exactly the same, not the best cook in the world but a food-lover! I'm a sucker for street food and bizarre eats.

Here are mine!

BBQ intestines in the Philippines
Nyoma Choma (crispy roasted pork from Tanzania)
Chilli crabs from home, Singapore
A plain and simple Spanish tomato toast
Indian nasi briyani

Ay food, what would travel be without food!
i agree. food and travel just go together - you can't travel without eating amazing food! and i did have some fantastic food in singapore, too, nellie. street food is definitely my favorite.

Ha! You cracked me up Oliver!

Yummm.. nothing beats a full English breakfast to cure a serious hangover!

Talking about that, we gotta grab a few pints in Manchester when we meet next year!

awesome that you'll be there, nellie. it will be great to meet in person!

speaking of full english breakfasts - another one of my favorite (and absolutely unhealthy!) foods is the irish breakfast roll, which consists of sausages, egg, rashers and ketchup, all smushed into a bread roll. instant hangover cure!
Yummm.. I never had that in Ireland, damn! The only thing I didnt like in the Irish breakfast is the black pudding - the Spaniards have the same stuff and I'm not a big fan. :X

See you in Manchester in 2011!

the breakfast roll is a favorite among construction workers. hehe. best place to get one is in a spar or other convenience store, believe it or not.

as far as black pudding - i rather kind of like it, despite what it actually IS. it's salty and delicious. now, WHITE pudding on the other hand... ick!!!

I have dear friends in Germany who first lived in Russia and boy can they cook!! They make pelemeni - meat filled dumplings with creamy sauce, delicious open-faced sandwiches with ajvar - a roasted red pepper sauce, and wonderful meatballs with noodles and sauce. Mmm. :-)
Thanks for starting this group Megan.

I blog about food a lot; one of my passions when I travel.
