Our prize for Passports with Purpose is cancelled :(

For the past hour or so, we have been emailing back & forth with the Passports with Purpose team. There is an unfortunate issue with the prize we wanted to offer, let me explain.

Firstly it was my intention to offer the following prize to our next conference in Umbria in Italy next April.

• 2 x Independent Travel Blogger Tickets.
• 4 x Nights accommodation for the duration of the conference.

The idea being that it may help a blogger & a friend to attend our next conference.  The prize isn't supported by anyone other than myself, that means I was actually going to pay for the accommodation out of my pocket.  I was happy to do this.

However I felt if I was going to do this, that I didn't want to be paying for a company to attend, they have deeper pockets than bloggers after all!  Hence the reason blogger tickets are cheaper than company tickets too.

Unfortunately the team at Passports with Purpose have told us that there are legal issues around this.  For the sweepstakes they run, there cannot be restrictions in place on who can win the prize.

Therefore the only course of action is to remove the prize! :(

It is a shame, but unfortunately we cannot break the law.
