We're coming to Travel Bloggers Unite to learn how blogging can help with our fight to make the world less boring, and save a bit of it as well. Plus to announce the winners of our absolute corker of a prize...
The Adventurists are UK based purveyors of adventuring nutjobbery. We believe there is adventure left in the world, you just have to look a bit harder these days. You have to go out of our way to make things difficult and seek out opportunities to walk off the edge of the map.
We hold what we like to think are proper adventures, the sort where you have to use your own cunning; no guides, no itinerary. From the world's longest horse race 1000km across Mongolia to a collection of three-wheeled sofa bikes wobbling across South America, our gangly tentacles our spreading around the planet battling an increasingly boring, sanitised world.
It's not just about adventure, it's also about helping to save a bit of the world. Every team that takes part raises money for a charity that works in the country or region that plays host to the adventure. Since it all began with six tiny cars driving from London to Mongolia back in 2004 the teams have raised a whopping £2.5 million for charity.
So we're a force for global mischief and global good you could say.
Our most popular jaunt is the Rickshaw Run, a simple and effective formula for glorious mayhem and splendid adventure in India. You can read all about how to win a free place and flights plus more in the Travel Bloggers Unite competition here.
We're really rather smug about the opportunity to support the first ever Travel Bloggers Unite conference because we think the world needs to know about adventures. Despite our usual reluctance for new fangled technology that takes all the fun out of everything, we've come to the realisation that blogging is a vital skill for a modern adventurist. Travel Bloggers Unite has a bunch of fine folks who are experts in their field and it will be a cracking weekend for anyone interested in travel blogging. We'll be there in Manchester to answer any questions about the splendid competition and learn a few new tricks ourselves.
