A new year is always a funny thing. Matt had to work the evening of New Year's Eve so we had a quiet evening full of fondue and him trying to open a bottle champagne for 10 minutes. It was charming.

| Our NYE feast. Told ya it was charming. |
The new year was full of optimism, goals, all of that goodness. Did some Boxing Day shopping, baked a banana bread, all was good in da hood. And then it was my first day back at the office ...
The work situation
If you didn't know, I work in television (for privacy and contract issues, I won't mention the company) as a host, producer and writer on a kids' show. I am 25 years old and already earn more than the average Canadian. I have my own desk, my own voicemail and work downtown in the biggest city in our country. I host a live show twice a week, get my makeup done, dress up in various costumes.
And yet, I hate it.
