Travel Bloggers Unite have joined forces with UK based Volunteering Company, Oyster Worldwide to bring TBU11 delegates a brilliant volunteering opportunity.

At TBU11 in Manchester, one lucky delegate will win the opportunity to take part in a FREE volunteering project in Romania!

THE PRIZE

The lucky delegate will participate in one of Oyster Worldwide’s long running Romania placements. Oyster Worldwide, a gap year provider, is offering the opportunity for the winner to travel to the heart of Romania, a country unspoiled by tourism, to live, work, explore and become part of Romanian life.

An excellent opportunity for animal lovers & those keen on the great outdoors, you will be working with over 50 bears, who in their past lives were abused and exploited by humans- watch them develop and play in an environment very much like the wild.

Alternatively, you could be working with orphaned children, giving them the love and affection that they so crave- help them to enjoy life again and teach them to grow as a person.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

Children

• 4 week childcare project
• Informal discussion & briefing to assess suitability
• Help and advice from our UK office before and after departure
• Finding you a suitable volunteer placement, organizing your accommodation, liaising with our contacts in Romania

Bears

• 2-4 week placement at the bear sanctuary
• Informal discussion & briefing to assess suitability

• Finding you a suitable volunteer placement, organizing your accommodation, liaising with our contacts in Romania

• Transportation to your accommodation from the airport.
• Accommodation costs in a shared central apartment.
• Assistance and support from our representative whilst on your placement

• Tour of Brasov
• Daily return transport to the Sanctuary
• Donation to the Sanctuary

WHAT DOES THE WINNER PROVIDE

• Passport valid for 6 months after return
• Travel Insurance
• Cost of food and going out (£25-£30 per week, dependent on lifestyle). Lunch, water and a flask will be needed each day at the Sanctuary
• Cost of getting back to the Airport at the end of the placement (approx. £10)
• Cost of changing your return date if you need to
• Medical tests and CRB check if you are doing the childcare placement
• Cost of transport to the childcare projects each day (approx £5 per week)
• Regular blog articles about your time (at least 2 per week) that can be used on the Oyster website
• Provide photos & videos of your experiences that can be used by Oyster

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• The winner will be volunteering for Oyster Worldwide and therefore Oyster Worldwide will have the final say on the suitability of the winner.
• Minimum duration is two weeks at the bear sanctuary. Maximum duration is 4 weeks.
• Only duration available for childcare is 4 weeks.
